A patient treated at the JMS Burn Center at Doctors Hospital was recently recognized by the HCA Today blog. Emmanuel Martinez was treated for an electrical accident that took both his legs, dominant right arm, and a portion of his left hand. Martinez had a long rehabilitation journey where he was encouraged to pursue his artistic talent as an interest and form of therapy. He excelled and, after graduating from rehab, went on to enroll in the Gertrude Herbert Institute of Art in Augusta. Today, Martinez is an artist and an inspiration.
