Tell us about your family.
“I have two fabulous children: my inquisitive, creative son Charlie, age 8, and my sweet, bright, loving daughter Ella, age 7. I have an amazingly supportive and beautiful wife, Kelly, who is trained in finance but taught elementary school prior to raising our two children.”
What are your hobbies?
“Being in the presence of my family. We love to golf, fish, read, and play piano.”
Why did you choose burn care/BRCA?
“I love burn care because it includes all aspects of my training. I am privileged to care for the patients who are critically ill and follow their journey to the reconstructive phase of their care. I love BRCA because burn care is forever and constantly changing. Every day, I bounce cases off other doctors in the system. Being part of such a wide network affords all of us the opportunity to grow and learn from each other.”
What is your favorite part of your job? Your least favorite?
“Favorite part: being part of a team who can positively impact someone at his or her worst moment. Least favorite: the business side of medicine. Luckily, we have great support staff who can manage this!!”
What gets you out of bed in the morning?
“The feeling of being needed. Knowing there are about 100 patients daily waiting to be seen.”
What is your biggest achievement to date – personal or professional?
“The success of my marriage. Within this relationship all other accomplishments (children, degrees, etc.) have become possible.”
What is on your wish list for your next five years here?
“To expand our network abroad!”
