Burn and Reconstructive Centers of America at Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center celebrates first anniversary

October 10, 2020

Burn and Reconstructive Centers of America at Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center in Las Vegas celebrated its first anniversary this October.

Since opening in October 2019, BRCA at Sunrise has provided specialized burn, wound, and reconstructive care for patients of the Silver State and surrounding areas as part of the largest burn network in the nation. With 15 beds devoted to burn patients and a team of surgeons trained in advanced burn and wound care, the center is equipped to provide specialized inpatient and outpatient burn care to adult and pediatric patients.

BRCA at Sunrise plans to move their burn center into an expanded facility sometime next year as they continue growing their number of patients treated and expanding their roster of burn specialists. In the last year alone, Medical Director Dr. J.E. Coates welcomed three physicians to the BRCA team at Sunrise. The surgeons’ various backgrounds and combined expertise enabled the burn center to expand their list of services to include plastic and hand surgery.

BRCA at Sunrise surgeons have performed multiple Cultured Epidermal Autographs (CEAs) and Meek procedures over the past year, marking one of the first times the procedures have been performed in the state of Nevada. The Las Vegas burn center is also home to the latest burn care technology, such as the RECELL® system’s Spray-On Skin™ cells and laser therapy for burn pain, itching, and scar alteration.

It is our pleasure to provide access to specialized burn care to the residents of Nevada as we continue Healing Patients. Healing Families. Healing Lives.®
