BRCA Online Education

April 24, 2020

Burn and Reconstructive Centers of America is making burn, hand, and wound care education available online, complete with continuing education credits for medical professionals.

“Digital learning has become commonplace as the world becomes more and more digital,” Dr. Mullins said. “Traditionally, we have taken these seminars to our partners in care. We will still do that as needed, but this resource makes this information readily available at the fingertips of those who seek it.”

The online repository of digital presentations allows users to earn continuing education credits while learning about various topics, including emergency treatment of burn injuries, burn critical care, acute and reconstructive surgical interventions. The sessions are accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Prehospital Continuing Education (CAPCE). In addition, courses are approved by the Georgia Nurses Association, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation. Courses also are approved as AMA PRA Category 1 CreditTM Continuing Medical Education Credits.

The education will be available in a variety of formats, including video and audio podcasts. Initial offerings will target emergency crews, flight crews and nurses and other medical professionals.

“We are proud to offer online education,” Dr. Mullins said. “After all, the more knowledge we can provide those on the front-line of emergency care, as well as caregivers throughout the healthcare industry, the better the outcome for the patient.”
